Kush was one of the names of the ancient kingdom of Nubia and was one of the most powerful kingdoms to ever exist, at one time claiming rulership of Sudan (Kush) & Egypt (Kemet)
The Elephant design is inspired from the Great temple of Apedemak, from the Meroitic period of Ancient Kush. The temple is adorned with many elephant carvings and statues.
